Tigne Point development draws closer to completion

Tigné Point development draws closer to completion

Planning permits for the 16,000sqm Tigné Point Office block and the two foreshore blocks, T17 east and west, have now been issued by the planning authority.

Permits have finally been granted to allow the north phase of this lifestyle development, Tigne Point, to be completed.

Problems first arose when planning requirements insisted on preserving the Garden Battery, a series of 19th century British gun emplacements situated on land planned for development. Changes had to be made to the initial design and structures, including the complete redesign of traffic through the development resulting in a tunnel designed to direct traffic under the said batteries.

The last phase of this project, an important part of this project, will consolidate the Tigne‘ Point project‘s vision as a holistic mixed-use development that brings together residences, shops, leisure areas, restored heritage sites and business in a prime location served by ample underground car parkinginclude. The full development permit includes 103 apartments in two blocks and for a separate 16,000sqm business, two pavilion style catering establishments with outside dining, as well as a tree lined open pedestrian boulevard adjacent to the historic seafront battery.
